Kusum Perera

Kusum Perera is a renowned Sri Lankan actress known for her excellent work in the Sinhala film industry. She debuted in 1976 with Lenin Moraes’s film Unnath Dahai Malath Dahai. Kusum Perera appeared opposite in the Sinhala drama movie released on 23 July 1976. Impressed by her acting, Lenin Moraes cast Kusum in his next film, Aadarei Man Aadarei, released on 19 November 1976. The film starred Vijaya Kumaratunga, Malini Fonseka, and Tony Ranasinghe. Kusum Perera appeared in Danny Mariyadasan’s Honda Hitha in 1977 and took a break from the Sinhala film industry for about thirty years. She made a comeback in 2012 with a comedy film, Jeewithe Lassanai, directed by Sudesh Wasanth Peiris.

The film starred Ranjan RamanayakeTennyson Cooray, and Ananda Wickramage opposite Kusum Perera and has released on 21 December 2012. Singa Machan Charlie by Lal Weerasinghe in 2015 and Puthandiya by Thisula Deepa Thambawita in 2016 are the most notable Sinhala projects by Kusum Perera.
